“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” – Isa 9.2

No doubt you have noticed the Christmas season is in full swing. All around us people are busy with activity trying to make this season a joyful time. If you were to take a poll at the Mall, you would find that the average person thinks Christmas is about giving gifts. While this is partly true, it certainly is not the reason that Christians celebrate Christmas. We celebrate Christmas because we were once “The people that walked in darkness” and now we “have seen a great light.” No longer do we wander from place to place in darkness, God has sent His Son to redeem us back to Him. As a Christian today, rejoice when you think this about this great truth and tell someone that you meet what Jesus Christ has done for you! For once we walked in darkness but now we have seen a great light!
