“That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”  – Ephesians 2.7

The Apostle Paul in penning his letter to the Ephesians uses the expression “riches” five times. Here in our text, Paul is drawing our attention to the exceeding riches of God’s grace through Jesus Christ; but do you realize that without man’s sin, those riches would have never been fully revealed or could ever be fully appreciated. The redemptive work of Jesus Christ gave Him the opportunity to showcase a part of His character not seen in creation, “the exceeding riches of his grace. All of mankind has transgressed God’s law and is deserving of eternal destruction; but God, desires to show the exceeding riches of His grace through you and me. One day soon in Heaven, all of creation will see Christ, bearing in His body the scars of Calvary, the only marks of sin evident in glory. They will also see those who have received Him as their personal Savior, eternal trophies of God’s amazing grace.
