Paul’s Changed Life
“But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me.” – Galatians 1.23-24
Nothing in this world is as powerful as the Gospel. The word Gospel means “good news.” In the Bible, the Gospel is described as the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures. Never has a tongue told or an ear heard greater news than that! The Gospel is the only thing that has the power to transform a life from a servant of sin, to a servant of the Savior. In our text, we find the testimony of Paul; “he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.” Paul went from a persecutor to a preacher; from a destroyer of the faith to a declarer of the faith. How did such a drastic change take place in Paul’s life? It was not because he became enlightened or because he turned over a new leaf, it was because he had an encounter with the risen Son of God and was forever changed by the power of the Gospel. As a Christian today, anything good about you is not because of you at all; but rather how good God has been to you. Take the time today to praise the Lord for His goodness and grace to you.
