“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” – 1 Peter 2.9

At some time in life, everyone has experienced the feeling of wandering in darkness. Groping with no light is a horrible way to live and certainly leaves a distressing feeling. Such is the testimony of every person, throughout history, who lives without Christ. I praise the Lord for the day in my life that He called me out of my spiritual darkness and brought me into His marvelous light. Jesus Christ, as the light of the world, is calling people to leave the utter darkness of the world and its sin and follow Him by salvation into the light. Those who have been born-again by the grace of God should rejoice in His salvation and more than that, you should “shew forth the praises of him who hath called you.” As Christians, we need to carry the message of the Gospel to a world that lives in darkness. May the Lord help us always to be faithful to that end!
