“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” – Revelation 21.5

People love things that are new. We love the smell of new cars, the feel of new clothes, and the excitement of new gadgets. We are constantly looking to upgrade our old stuff for newer, better, faster, and more efficient things. The Bible says in our text that God will “make all things new.” The passage is referring to the new heaven and new earth that God has been preparing for two thousand years now. Though it is impossible to fully comprehend the beauty and splendor that we will enjoy in the new heaven and new earth, think about the fact that our Lord created this incredibly beautiful earth in six days; imagine what He can create in two thousand years! We are about to enter a brand New Year and it may be the year of Christ’s second coming. May God help us all to watch and work so that we will be ready to praise our glorious Savior for all of eternity in our new, heavenly home.
